More! More!
More! More! More! This is what I hear throughout the day from my adorable son. Per the doctor's instructions last week, we no longer have to give him a bottle three times a day in addition to meals. So, now he is a snack hound! It started when he got into his cupboard one day where we keep all of his dishes and he came out with his monster plate in one hand and his "Cars" plate in the other and came running to me with them shouting, "More, more!" We also have a little stash in the pantry with little bags of bunny crackers. He sometimes gets into the pantry and brings me a bag. Then if I get to doing something else and don't give him one in a timely manner, he goes for another unopened bag.
He has also come up with another trick which scared the daylights out of us the first time he did it. He absolutely loves noodles, but we have found that we have to cut them up into small pieces and give them to him one at a time because he will shove a bunch into his mouth at once and gag. Well one day Kate was feeding him noodles and he started to gag. I scolded her, but she insisted that she had only given him one small noodle. So I watched him the next time and once he had another noodle in his mouth he started to make these FAKE choking noises! That noodle was nowhere near the back of his throat. He just figured out that we would make a big fuss over him if he made those sounds!
On Wednesday we took him to get his first haircut at the "Great Wall" Asian mall. We have been there several times because they have a wonderful Asian grocery store, as well as restaurants and shops. He did pretty well, but I imagine it was somewhat difficult for the stylist because of his age, and she took a bit more off of the top than I would have liked.
We also got together Wednesday evening at a Chinese restaurant in Seattle with some other families who have also adopted from "Journeys of the Heart." It was so nice to see everyone and to watch the kids interact. The food was really good, too!
We finally had some warm weather over the weekend and drove up to Monroe, Wa. to the "Reptile Zoo". Stephen has been wanting to go there for ages, so we finally made the trip and enjoyed seeing the two headed turtle, some enormous snakes, and all sorts of other reptiles.
Jason also got a couple of new toys this week that are now among his favorites. We found a little red car that he can ride on at the consignment shop that he loves. He also got a package from my family in Texas, which brought his new friend bunny. This big blue bunny's mouth moves as it sings, "I love you a bushel and a peck" in the most darling voice. He hasn't really been into stuffed toys before, but he sure took to carrying this one around. And of course he also enjoyed playing in the box it came in, too!

What a little stinker with his fake coughing! It's SO scary when you think your kiddo is choking. So cute that he's snack hound now. Those bunny snacks are super yummy though. :)I love the picture of him getting his haircut! Such an adorable face!
Oh, I second what Staci said....can I just say "ditto"? :)
AND that snazzy red car...he will be the talk of the neighborhood!! LOVE it!
And snack crazy, eh? He's off the bottle and NOT 'lookin' back!
