Jason's Baptism

Last Sunday, April 19th, Jason was baptised by our beloved Deacon Jack while surrounded by many special friends and family.

Of course, our faith and church are all still fairly new to him. At home we always pray before meals and he has figured out that we can start eating as soon as we have prayed. So, now when we start to put food on the table he folds his hands, gets a serious look on his face, and says, "Dai-duh, dai-duh, dai-duh...Men."

The other big news at our house is that we got rid of the Internet. Believe it or not, it has really been wonderful in so many ways. The only thing is that it is a little more difficult to communicate through emails, and create blogs (not to mention checking out other people's blogs!) when I am limited by my ability to get to the library and the amount of time I can spend there, especially with my sweet little boy, who likes to help me push the keys!

Jason is doing marvelously. He is able to play on his own a bit more, and almost always sleeps on his crib mattress next to our bed now. He is enjoying his big brother and has learned how to make tickly noises and to tickle Stephen. He has also tried out the cat's food and has done a bit of cleaning in the potty before brushing his teeth. Imagine all of the immunities he will have!

We went to the hematologist this last week and the doctor said that while Jason's blood work shows that he has a strong case of G6PD, we should be able to handle it easily by being careful that he doesn't eat certain foods, or take certain medications. He said that not everyone reacts to the same things, so he encouraged us to try foods on the list in small quantities to see if they affect him.

Otherwise, the weather is getting better here. The trees are blossoming, and we are looking forward to our first summer all together!
